Strengthen Egg Shells

Calcium

High in Calcium

1. Chickens do not have any teeth

Grit is necessary for the digestion of the feed. Because chickens have no teeth, a grain will arrive in their stomachs while still whole. With the chicken grit, the grains and kernels are easily mashed in the chicken's stomach. Consequently, a chicken's body digests the feed more easily and absorbs all of the nutrients from the chicken feed.

2. Strong bones are always important

Grit is a source of calcium. Calcium is necessary for the formation and maintenance of the bones. That is how feeding your chicken grit will reinforce the bones.

3. Using grit Ensures Firm Shells

Do you have a hen that lays eggs with very fragile shells? Or perhaps she even lays soft-shelled eggs? Then a good source of calcium is needed to reinforce the creation of the egg shell. Grit is the ideal source of calcium to ensure that your hens produce eggs with firm

Frequently Asked Questions

You’ve Any Question?

Why do I need to supplement calcium for my chickens?

Chickens and ducks need calcium to make strong eggshells. If they don’t consume enough calcium, they will pull calcium from their system, leading to weak and brittle bones. Our layer feeds contain calcium. However, you should always provide free choice calcium, as different birds may require varying amounts. Birds will only consume additional calcium when needed. Calcium ensures strong eggshells, which is excellent for your eggs and flock health.

Oyster Shells have Min-36% and Max 41% of Calcium
